Povpre\u010dne globalne temperature iz predindustrijskega obdobja (1850-1900) IPCC opredeljuje za &#8216;normalne&#8217; temperature, preden so se na podnebju za\u010deli poznati ob\u010dutnej\u0161i \u010dlovekovi vplivi. Temperaturne anomalije so po 18. novembru padle pod vrednost 2 \u00b0C, a glede na trende bomo slej ko prej spet pri\u010da novim rekordom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Iz grafa je razvidno, da je tendenca globalnih temperatur vedno vi\u0161ja (vrisane so meritve med leti 1940 in 2023; modre krivulje pomenijo starej\u0161e meritve v prej\u0161njem stoletju, oran\u017ene in rde\u010de pa kasnej\u0161e meritve po letu 2000). Vidimo lahko tudi, da je obdobje med pomladjo in jesenjo obi\u010dajno obdobje upadanja anomalije globalne temperature, letos pa je v tem obdobju temperaturna anomalija nara\u0161\u010dala (odebeljena rde\u010da krivulja). \u010ce upo\u0161tevamo, da obi\u010dajno med jesenjo in pomladjo globalno povpre\u010dje temperaturne anomalije nara\u0161\u010da, lahko \u017ee v naslednji polovici leta upravi\u010deno pri\u010dakujemo nove rekorde. Prag 2 \u00b0C globalnega segrevanja je klju\u010den, saj prek te to\u010dke znatno nara\u0161\u010da verjetnost huj\u0161ih in nepovratnih podnebnih sprememb, vklju\u010dno z obse\u017enim taljenjem ledenikov, dvigovanjem morskih gladin ter pogostej\u0161im pojavljanjem ekstremnih vremenskih dogodkov. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cilj pari\u0161kega sporazuma o ohranjanju globalnega segrevanja pod mejo 1,5 \u00b0C je zastavljen z namenom, da se te nevarnosti ohranijo pod nadzorom. Onkraj praga globalnega segrevanja nad 2 \u00b0C se pove\u010da tveganje spro\u017eitve povratnih zank, npr. obse\u017eno taljenje permafrosta, kar lahko sprosti velike koli\u010dine toplogrednega plina metana in vodi v dodatno segrevanje s potencialno katastrofalnimi posledicami za podnebje in ekosisteme. Ena od povratnih zank je tudi pospe\u0161eno taljenje morskega ledu v polarnih predelih, saj odsotnost ledenega pokrova pove\u010da akumulacijo toplote v morju.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u010ceprav \u010dlovekove dejavnosti ostajajo osrednji dejavnik globalnega segrevanja, so leto\u0161nje nenavadno visoke globalne temperature v dolo\u010deni meri tudi posledica pojava El Ni\u00f1a (povi\u0161ana temperatura morja v Tihem oceanu). El Ni\u00f1o obi\u010dajno prina\u0161a vi\u0161je globalne temperature od ostalih let, prav zato pa so mo\u010dno nad normalnimi vrednostmi tudi tudi povpre\u010dne globalne temprerature oceanov in morij. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naslednja slika prikazuje dnevno povr\u0161insko temperaturo morja (\u00b0C), povpre\u010deno po ekstrapolarnem globalnem oceanu (60\u00b0S\u201360\u00b0N) za leto 2015 (modra), 2016 (oran\u017ena), 2022 (rumena) in 2023 (\u010drna krivulja). Vse druge letnice po letu 1979 so prikazane s sivimi krivuljami. Povpre\u010dne razmere za obdobje 1991\u20132020 so prikazane s \u010drtkano sivo krivuljo. Na grafu lahko vidimo rekorden potek morskih povr\u0161inskih temperatur do konca leto\u0161njega avgusta. Od takrat se je povpre\u010dna temperatura za\u010dela zni\u017eevati skladno s sezonskim nihanjem, a kljub temu ostaja za to obdobje bistveno vi\u0161ja kot v katerem koli prej\u0161njem letu v zgodovini meritev.
